Somebody told me of something that you can buy that can disable the speed limiter for a 2003 6.0. Does anybody know what it is?
Thanks,
matt Jacksonville, FL
There was a thread here a while back that suggested that as you approach your limited speed you can turn the key to the start position and it will over-ride your limiter without leaving your starter on the road. I don't recall anyone verifying the veracity of the post. I won't be trying it myself but, if you're so inclined report back and let us know.
I tried the key trick with no change at all. It doesnt lunch the starter but it doesnt diesengage the speed limiter whether you bump the key or hold it. BTW the playing with the cruise control didnt work either, but it did honk the horn.
Speed in MPH = (RPM * TireDia * 3.14) / (OD * RE * 1056)
Where OD is 0.72 for the Torqshift and RE is 4.10 in your case. TireDia is 31.65 inches for the 265/75R16 tire. 1056 is the conversion factor that cleans up the min/hour inch/mile business.
And finally, to figure the tire diameter given tire size 265/75R16 use the following:
(2 * (265 * .75)) / 25.4 + 16
The sidewall height is 75% of the tread width of 265 mm and the 25.4 converts from mm to inches. Two times the sidewall height plus the diameter of the rim gets you the overall tire diameter.
Most of the satellites I work with are geostationary. But there have been a number of inclined orbit satellites that I've had to analyze for doppler and for tracking purposes.
Just for fun I've also done the calculations for some amatuer radio LEO satellites as well. Usually though, I just use programs written by folks who specialize in orbital stuff.
I can also tell you from personal experience that it is kind of hard to point an antenna when you are on or near the equator. Azimuth and elevation start getting kind of mixed up
Around the North Dallas area, you'll get run over by the big hair, big chest, cell phone talking BMW girls if you're running that slow on the Tollway !!!!
I agree. I remember coming back home on the New Jersey Turnpike. I'm just thankfull that I had my 135HP chip tuned all the way up ! I was in the right lane doing 85, and that for most other people was too SLOW. People were passing in the left like I was sitting still. I was amazed. I'd say the avg. speed was at least 90+ on the Pike. Crazy. When I hit CT again, and had to do 70MPH again, it was like I was going 30

I hate to be a wet blanket. In a little more than a year, we are killing off more people than we killed in 10 years of the Vietnam war.
