Called Reider racing, guy told me no and he has heard of no plans for anyone to offer one. Called Strange, guy told me they could do it but stressed that it would be very expensive. Put me on hold for a bit and when he came back on told me he just talked to boss and was told that they did make one for someone a couple of years ago and it cost $1200. Called Moser, they said they werent even equipped to do custom stuff like that. I'm actually starting to consider welding up the rear or ponying up the dough for TWO detroit lockers.
If you remember in one of my other threads, I said that the local machine guy here in town said he thought he could have one built, well that turned out not to be the case, the machine shop that was suppose to be able to build it had built a couple, years ago, but the broche to cut the splines is $2,200 and they could not sell enough spools to pay for the machine, thay said they cannot compete with dynatrac and all there fancy D60 stuff,
I think I'm going to do what these guys told me to do in the first place, order a new carrier for the lower gear sets and weld it up, I figure it will be lighter than a detroit and if done properly should be just as tough, no to metion cheaper,
Think I will try to find a split type carrier- that way there will be 4 spider gears to take the welds instead of just 2, and it will be easier to weld because it comes apart. I have Powr-Lok diffs already, and they have 4 spiders but it would be a waste to ruin a perfectly good Powr-Lok by welding it.
