Torque cams...

Gentlemen, I did a search and came up short so I thought I would field my question here. I just purchased a 95' F150 with the 300 for my tow vehicle. So far the truck is great and it's low end power is surprisingly stout for a six. I have two question, one a problem, the other a search for advise:

1. The problem: Sometimes the truck will lose all power and buck while under throttle and while maintaining throttle. My first thought is spark plugs and wires (as I don't know when they were changed), but the problem will come and go at will without any prerequisite conditions. Is this a somewhat common problem with an easy fix or am I overanalysing a simple ignition problem?

2. I'm using the truck for a tow vehicle. It needs to tow a 1500lbs trailer and my 3000 lb car. I do realise that this is probably beyond the truck's "recomended" towing limit which is why I am looking to install a cam in it. So I'm looking for recommendations for a torquey cam. I would assume I'm looking for something with a little more lift and not too much duration...

The truck is great. It's fully loaded and is pretty close to showroom condition. I almost feel bad using it as a winter vehicle!

Let's see, the stock cam and set up runs from 800 to 3500 RPM ok with excess RPM making more noise than anything else. How much lower can you go?

I don't know what you have done to your motor but I have a 92 300and have done a K&N , Gibson CAT back exhaust , High end cap rotorand wires with Splitfire plugs. Just by letting it breathe i was pulling a 4 horse slant load trailer with it stuffed full of 80# bales at 60-65 on rolling ground. Oh yeah 5 speed.
