Same trannys?
2 trucks, same motor(7.3), one is 2wd the other is 4wd. What is the diff. in the transmissions?

need more info to be of much help, year, four speed, auto? five speed? quite a few options available, no way of knowing what exactly you have on what you've given.

The 2wd is a '92 and the 4wd is a '90/'91. they are both auto's. Looking to buy the 4x4 and use the 4x2 as a doner. My '92 has 215,000 and the other has around 80,000 but has a bad tranny.

The output shafts are different. The 4x4 has an adapter that bolts on to mate to the transfer case. The 4x2 has an extension housing that bolts on.

You can swap the bolt on pieces very easily, but to change the output shafts everything needs to come out of the transmission.
