Dash questions
The 92-96 dash will fit in the 89 cab, as the cab itself is identical. All that is different is the wiring, and the heater/AC box on the firewall. You will probably have to change that as well, as Ford, being the engineering geniuses that they are, support the dash using rigid ductwork for the defroster, AC, heater box. When you start to take it apart you'll know what I mean... Also I'll warn you now, old or new, there are four blind screws behind the dash you're not going to find easily. One behind the fuse box, one above the steering column support which attaches to the left side of the cab above the parking brake, one in the center above the little steel piece that sticks out under the ash tray (on the 92-96), and the older trucks have an additional 4th blind screw above the heater box assembly with a stupid little metal bracket as well.
And they are all torx, too
