PLEASE HELP! Door Panel Removal!!
This is my first post on my new truck!!! I am happy to say I am a VERY VERY proud owner of my 2004 XLT supercrew! Rides so much nicer then cars I have had in the past! I am a frist time truck buyer and use this truck for everyday driving and I just seem to not want to stop driving it around!! My question to you guys is about the inside door panels. I have something that is vibrating inside the panel on the passengerside door which I had taken to the dealer already to fix. It worked for a day, they told me it was the plastic rubbing againest the metal of the door. I want to take it off and see whats going on for myself since I know I can probably locate the problem myself and fix it right without the dealer trying to get me in and out really fast with my problem and not taking the time to work on it the right way and to have it start up a day afterwards. Can someone tell me in detail how to remove them without breaking anything? lol I see there are 2 screws at the bottom of the door that I have removes already but nothing wants to budge yet. I'd love any help you can give me!
Also, on the dash, I have a squeak right where that little red light that flashes is when the doors are locked. Have any idea what might be doing that? and a fix if possible? Thank you so much!!!!!
1. Remove the two screws and the one in the middle of the door, under the arm rest.
2. The inside opener assembley needs to be removed, there is a cover and two bolts underneath.
3. Remove the speaker cover and remove the speaker, 4 bolts.
4. Since you have an XLT you dont need to remove the window crank.
5. Gently lift up on the door cover and it should pop up and off.
The hardest part of the whole thing was getting all the latches on the cover back in when you slide it down. Whole thing took about 10 minutes to get off and back on. The mirror on the other hand gave me a little problem.
