Mine started at about 50 to 65 mph. Hey just give it a good test drive before you purchase it. I am a little bitter like black Fred said up above because I have owned Fords all my life an BAM, I get kicked in the teeth with the 04 I just traded off because of the shimmy that Ford could not fix.

Hey cuttr28, before you buy one of the POS I use to own before my F150, check out this site WWW.tundrasolutions.com

You're gonna meet alot of very "HAPPY" people on that site.
You're just gonna have to wait longer for your parts when your Jap "truck" breaks.

My 04 SCrew is going to be parked until I can get close to breaking even on the pile of junk. It may be awhile considering it listed for $31,000 and the best offer I have had on my pristine, not a scratch on it Ford is $15,000.
HUH?! I'm calling BS. I traded in a 2002 Sport Trac with 30k miles on it and got $18k. If the truck is so "dangerous" why don't you trade it in for a Chevy, GM, Dodge, Toyota or whatever. The dealer will sure as h#ll give you a lot more than $15k for a 2004 trade in.

Thanx , but what i meant was does the shimmy or vibration happen as soon as you get the truck or is it something that comes on like after 3000 miles are on the truck and you have owned it for awile. If i test drive it and there is no vibration or shimmy am I safe or will it suprise me a few months later?
Thanx

Hey cuttr. For your info the site deals with all Toyotas. Seems people are having problems with all their vehicles. don't worry there's a whole section dedicated to the TACOma.

Fcal... I personally DO NOT care who you like, and who you don't like, but when your First Amendment freedom of speech infringes on my rights to be an American, I get upset. Please keep your insensitive, egotistical comments to your self. The "Ford Truck Enthusiast" Forum should not be an outlet for the projection of hate and anger towards one group based on their Race. Our country has moved leaps and bounds into the future and doesn't really need people like you perpetuating hate and disgust that you have so elequently chosen to exhibit in this forum. Any questions, please contact me.

The only other truck I would consider would be the F 250. I owned them all, Chevy, Dodge, etc. except Nissan. After my experience with the Tundra, you can keep Jap trucks. If you think your Ford dealer sucks, wait till you catch the attitude of the Jap dealers.

Motorcycles and P/U's should be American.

wow!!. i didnt want to start this thats for sure.

I have been having problems with my 04 and hopefully will have the option of a new truck or a check and wanted to know what some serious truck owners thought was a good second choice to ford.

I made my mind up today after going out and test driving the 05 GMC , 05 tundra,05 Nissan and 05 ford. Im going to stay with Ford just a new one, and im going to drive it carefully and check everything out before signing anything. But after comparing the bunch ford wins in every catagory. IMO.

Im Staying With Ford.

Go ahead close the thread. Its Done anyway.

Not all good.... DAY #1

Just picked up my new 05 KR 150 SCREW. Check engine light came on two blocks away from the dealership. Since the dealer was about to close as I left, decided to return Monday. Almost home the audiophile system ate my brand new CD, now getting a CD ERROR. Truck had 12 miles on it and I test drove it another 18 without a problem this afternoon. It had to wait until I signed the papers to start acting up. By the way... it was shuttering just before the engine light came on. All other gauges (modified idiot lights) registered normal. Next stop light the check engine light went off and has not come back on.
