I have a 79 F-100 with the standard steering column and I have always thought about a tilt column in my truck. Does anyone have any idea if I would need a tilt column from a 73- 79 truck or could I use one from a Ford product of that time, say a car or van? Has anyone done this? I would like your comments. Thanks Gregm
Greg, You'll have to get one from a 78/9 F or full size Bronco, since those were the first years offered. You will have to cut 6 1/2" out of the length and change the shifting arm if you choose a van. I cut a shaft from a van and put it in a pickup column as a replacement.
