On the older V-8's the Cyl's numberd from Front to back, 1-4 on the passenger side and 5-8 on the drivers side.
I had that similar code on my 4.6 and #3 is on pass side at the firewall.
It was a bad plug.
I replaced all six with the Platinum plugs and have 10,000 on them with no problems.
