Short Trips

Hello all. I am a new PSD owner and was wondering if it is ok to drive a short distance and turn it off. My drive to work is about 20 miles and my wifes is about 3 or 4. I sometimes take her car to work because it does much better on gas. Is it ok for her to drive the truck to work even if it just barely gets warmed up? (Sometimes it never does get warmed up) We live in MS and temps are normally anywhere from 20 to 70 degrees in the winter. I am totally new to this whole diesel thing and am just trying not to hurt it! Thanks in advance for all the advice.

I wouldn't be terribly concerned about it as long as *every* trip isn't a short one.

I don't drive mine much at all in winter. Is there something I need to do to the fuel for these extended periods of non operation. Fuel stabilizer? Biocide? My thoughts are to keep tanks full to prevent rust, but then I have all that fuel sitting around getting old and growing things, or is that a problem in cold weather? Our winter temps range teens to 40's with a zero or two mixed in there.

I would just keep the tanks full and add some biocide to them. That's how I stored my diesel boat, and never had a problem, even with close to 900 gallons of fuel on board.
