Angry 557 stroker

I am going to build a 557 ci engine that I will be racing, I am having problems finding companies that will offer the rotating assem. with the pistons, rings and bearings that I want.
Does anybody know a company I can deal with?

Have you checked with your local machine shop, they can generally get anything I want, be it wrong or right...

Yes I have checked with the machine shop and got a quote, but he seems a little high and uses a brand called PBM performance.(?) I was trying to shop around and get some options. The best place so far has been Flatlander racing, but they do not carry the total seal rings. Coast performance will not even return an email.

Thanks for the idea.

The thing with the machine shops is they get the inside scoop to the goods. You may be able to order through Summit (your preferred I believe), if you just ask for the parts by number. One of the guys on the FE board did not have good things to say about the crew at Flatlander.

Just some insight... --Mike

Believe it or not, but Summit and Jeggs both told me that none of thier suppliers carried anything that big, and they had not heard of PBM. As far as Flatlander, thanks for the scoop, I will avoid them. This will be to much money to take a chance on loosing it.

If no one informs me of a good supplier I will go with my machine shop and hope the PBM product is good.

FWIW:
Don't judge Flatlander from one person's experience.
I have used them for three motors and have had no problems.

I always call and talk to them, (don't just use the website) and have found them to be VERY helpful, particularly with my 418.

Thumbs up

What compression are you running? I am looking for 14.5to1. Also wanting H sieres bearings and Total Seal (max) rings.

What price was your Kit? And did it come balanced with a balancer?
Sorry for so many questions.
Thanks for the response.
I was getting off the computer when I got your post but I will check back later.

14.5 : 1 GEEZ YOU REALLY WANT SOME GUTS!!!! i'll be lucky to get 9:1 im using the edelbrock 60669 95cc heads as well. i've bored the block to 30 thou also, not real keen for the high compression, i just want a tough streeter!! the kit cost me the best part of 3 grand (australian) freight included. it didnt come balenced or any thing (i dont think many do) the best blokes to talk to are brad johnson or mike g, althou i don't know themv they have helped me out heaps through other posts, they really know their stuff.

My,machine shop has given me the best price that I have found so far, $2100. this does not include balancer nor is the rotating assembly balanced(but is included in some kits I have found for extra charges).

getuted,
the reason that I want the high comp. ratio is that I mud drag. My 1977 short wheel base F-150 is not streetable, it is trailered to every race in a 4 state area.It is raised 6 inches in the front and dropped 4 inches in the rear, looks like a female dog tanking a leak. But "HOOKS".
I run 72cc heads, c9ve castings, with some porting these are great heads along with the dove castings wich I have 2 sets. Also 2 sets of c9ve.

My main problem is finding an aftermarket catolouge that has a good selection of BBF parts.
Thanks for the replies, I will keep listening to all suggestions.

This is an over due update, but I have been looking at the web sites that has been suggested, (thanks BandBFord) and others and still my best bet so far is my machine shop like Mike G suggested.
getuted, I have not ask Brad Johnson yet, I may email him about this, but I bothered him with a desk top calc. and I hate to bother him again, maybe later.

I would love to hear from anyone that knows where I could get a BBF catalouge with high performance parts, other than Ford racing, they go to small or super big with the svo blocks and heads. I can only run factory heads but cubic inch is not limited.

90f150moneypit, I tried your link , but unless I am mistaken I have to join to ask a question.

Thanks everyone
