I have a 73 F250 with 360 engine. Flowtech headers, 2 1/2 pipes exiting in front of rear duals. I am told the mufflers are "Raptor turbo mufflers"?????
I tow a 24.5 ft fifth wheel. The local muffler guy says I will have more low end torque by increasing the amount of back pressure on my system. He also wants to attach on a $500 lifetime system to my flowtech headers. I felt like I couldn't get out of his shop fast enough. What's the truth? The headers are cheap but don't seem to leak.
Do a search on back pressure and you'll learn everything you ever wanted to know and more.
Good call on gettin' out of there fast. You're exhaust should be flowing pretty well with what you describe. I'd look more at intake and gearing if you're looking for more power.
