Red face Replacing Pedal assembly

Im about to tear into my 89 F250 to replace the entire pedal assembly under the dash and install the firewall flex reinforcement plate. Any suggestions before I start?

I did it to my 92. It was fairly easy. If I remember right, the only thing I had any trouble with was the clutch return spring in the pedal assembly. It worked the same with or without it. I don't know if the 89 is the same as a 92. Good luck with it.

im not sure about a 89 but i know a 88 you need to pull the steering coilumn out first. i thought i could do it without pulling the column but it aint happening.
ive also done a 93 and it was much easier.you dont have to pull the column on that one.

I already got out the pedal assembly tonight by letting the column sit on the seat. Getting the new one back in is going to be fun but I hope it stops the shifting problem.

mine all went in in one piece. a lot of turning it upside down and twisting and stuff. i had to pull my column straught out, then it would lay in the seat. my truck is ext cab with catain chairs, it may be different on a single cab or bench seat. i found that i broke a couple wires when mine went in. i don't know what they went to, but they got broke. i never put em back together, but everything seems normal. i guess just extra wires that ford put there didn't need to be. seems like theres a lot of things (ford put there that shouldn't be) the 92-up are different
