Coolant Leak

There is coolant leaking (somewhat violently) out of a seam where the engine block meets whatever is in front of it. I was wondering if there was any way that I could fix this or if it is a huge problem that is going to take extravagant tools and money. I have a feeling that I am in trouble.

If the "whatever is in front of it" is the water pump, it could simply be a bad gasket. Without seeing it, I wouldn't want to venture a guess as to what else it could be.

It is on the top right. The seam connects a reddish metal and a silver metal. It goes all the way around. The silver part has a contraption that is connected to a belt. The leak is coming from where I would assume there is a head gasket. However, I don't exactly know what I'm talking about. Sorry about the description. I've been writing a thesis and my brain is about done functioning.
