modulators

i looked at the local auto parts for c6 modulators and i found they have different color strips. can antone tell me the differences in shifting between them?

Can't say for sure, but I know what your talking about i.e. green,orange,etc.I got mine from parts house and told them I didn't know and got a adjustable one for same price,only had to adjust once to get it right.

I got a green stripe for my C4 and it is adjustable. There are other threads on this; search, I got the information these threads and bought the green.

The green stripe and black stripe modulators will hold the trans in each gear longer. The purple and other stripe colors let the trans shift earlier than the black and green. Don't remember which one shifts later between the black and the green though.

I had purple originally, have black now, on my c6, much beter shifts, and holds in gear alot longer, which is how ilike it....i still dont know the differences...but ill find out one day
