88 Ranger info./advice
Hi All,
I just found this site yesterday. I liek it, the message boards are great. As my name states I'm a new driver (not even liscenced yet, only have a permit). I do however have a 1988 Ranger GT. I don't know much about it and was wondering if anyoen can tell me a little bit about it, the manual that came with it dosne't give a whole lot of info. Its a manual 4 speed, 2.9 liter injection.. and thats about all I know. Its got a body kit on it which is good, cuz I don't leik lifts really on trucks. If anyone knows anything else about this truck please let me know.
Also, I kno this is a FORD discussion, BUT I lreally like the shiny grils on the new GMC trucks like the Denali, is there on like this to put on my truck? I can't afford alot to put into this truck. ANyoen got any ideas on putting anything else in it? I'm gonna put a nice system in it, not sure how to yet, but I will some how find some room for some subs.

The GTs were rather limited in production numbers so you are lucky to find one. I don't have a lot of background on them but the brochure from my 89 may have some information, email me if you would like me to look for it. The 2.9s are known for cracking heads if they overheat and for noisy lifters, otherwise they are a very good engine. The plugs on the top of the tranny can leak and cause you to loose all the fluid, check on this too.
