you will need a complete 302 motor different flywheel/flexplate. different motor mounts , new exhaust Y pipe. what tranny do you have and is this a 2wd or 4wd?
why would you want to put a 302 in place of a 300 unless u just had one sittin around and your 300 was blown i wouldnt do it. the 300 is better for towin and you can put in a cam a 4bbl carb and intake efi exhaust manifolds for less money and youll have a motor that will last longer and have more power. in some cases more isnt better
I have both the 300, and the 302. Mine are both EFI though. The 302 is a bit funner, but you downshift more on the highway to keep those gears - and thats with my EFI.
There is not enough difference between the 300 and the 302 in these trucks to warrant the swap. As mentioned, if your 300 is BLOWN then it would be worthwhile. Otherwise, just a couple of parts in the 300 and you can really do some damage with it. There will not be enough of a difference...in my EFI trucks the difference is only 25HP and like 10LB/FT torque. You could make that all up with just a CAM swap in hte 300.
