Post '87 Ranger Clutch Problem

All new clutch parts in the last 3 years, only about 10,000 miles since. Problem is that when the air temp gets above 85 degrees my clutch won't engage all the way and just recently was so bad that the truck wouldn't move at all. I don't have any problems at all when the temperature is below 85 degrees. You use to be able to pump the pedal a dozen or so times and the problem would resolve itself but recently the problem got really bad ( truck wouldn't move ) had to have it towed home. Hour after the tow truck left I drove my Ranger and the clutch worked fine. Like I said when it is cold outside I have no problems at all............ Any an All help would be appreciated.........Thanks

'87 Ranger Clutch Problem

I think not excatly for sure on this but is the fluid for the clutch up to par? the 1987 use a hydralic clutch which has a cylinder to engage/disengage the clutch, and if this fluid level is low might be causing this problem, I am no expert by any means but thought this might be a starting point.

What kind of clutch (jobber, rebuilt, OEM?) and who put it in? Check fluid for sure, as well as slave and master cylinders, check for crudd in the lines too. maybe purge the system with fresh brake fluid. Kinda sounds like a week pressure plate or a sticky throw out bearing, did they get replaced along with the disc?. Did the flywheel get ground when the clutch was done? If not, what condition was it in? Does the clutch fade or disappear all at once? What is it like on hills?

Clutch was a new one, can't remember brand name replaced throw out bearing at the same time,I did the work. ( this is the second clutch, first one broke a spring and wouldn't disengage, but I had the same problem with the first clutch also and since I had less then 3000 thousand miles on the first clutch and the flywheel looked good I didn't have it machined,It was machined with the first clutch. replaced throwout bearing with the first one also, ) after it started to get hot in the summer and the problem came back I put a new slave cylinder in but the problem was still there afterwards. but I got by because the weather wasn't to hot. The following summer problem arouse again and then I installed a master cylinder, once again weather wasn't tearrably hot and I had another vehicle to drive so I didn't mess with it. Now this summer the problem seems worse, as I've said and I would like to really get to the bottom of this strange problem.
The problem is that when you go to release the pedal to engage the clutch ( when the problem is there ) its like the clutch won't engage, it just slips, sometimes rapid pumping of the pedal would solve the problem but the other day when it was 100 degrees outside the clutch just slipped like it was in neutral, 2 hours later after letting the truck set, the clutch worked fine.
When I installed the slave cylinder new brake fluid was installed.
I have none of these problems when the temp is below 85, I will probably take it a part again, but hate to replace parts without knowing what is bad. Thanks for your input.
