Ford Ranger Auto Locking Hubs
Dear Friends....Having what appears to be a problem with the auto locking hubs on 97 Ford Ranger XLT - 4.0. May need to be replaced. Would prefer Auto but what manual hubs would also work? What year Ranger would work? Also any other Ford vehicle that could by used? Is there anywhere that I may be able to view breakdown or drawings of the internal compontents? If there is anybody out there experienced the same problem & would like to share their input would be appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to view my request and offering assistance or direction.

im not certain, but i think that any ranger, bII , or explorer with the same front axle as yours (spline count ) would work. id order new from warn, i plan on replacing mine someday, but as long as they work, im using them. check a haynes manual for the differences on manual vs auto hubs. biggest difference is the bearing adjusting nut. also do a search in this forum for the swap, someone may have photos of the conversion. ive seen a nifty tech article on them before but cant remember just where. have never dissassembled the auto-hub itself. good luck!
