I am getting an 89 Ranger with a V6 in it right now. The engine has about 250,000 KM on it. I am thinking of swapping the engine out before I insure it. I would like to get a 302 for it if the truck would be able to take it. Has anyone here ever done this before? Can the truck take it? If so, what kind of problems should I be aware of?
That information is here on the site. You may have to go back a ways. But, yes it's been done before. I know that there is a web site or two that provides the items you will need for the swap. From what I know this is not uncommon.
hi
im also looking for this info. of changing a 2.o L ford mototr to a 5.oL if you could foeward the sight or of where sisght is would be much help . thanks vince
I wish I had a direct link for you - but I don't:-(
This site does have several posts about it but they are a bit old (a year ago?). So take some time and go back through the postings or try a search for it. I would but I do not have a fast connection and it would take me all night. Hopefully, my DSL will come in next week and then I can surf as fast as my truck
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 10-Jul-02 AT 02:24 PM (EST)]yeah its been done and its really not all that hard if you know how to follow wiring diagrams and have some minor fabbing ability. i am not sure, but i'd imagine insurance would be cheaper as a v6.... seems like i'd insure it, then swap it.
