well here is a pic of the new ranger, no this one isn't gonna be a race truck just a daily driver, and play toy, don't know what I will do with it, but yes have already gotten some better tires comin, and no they are 44s just wimpy little 31x10.50 but I can already tell I am gonna have to put something into the rear for traction.
I don't know that I'll ever be able to buy another little tire again. I need a new set on the Camry and I'm considering the Sawzall. What's happening to me?
it's a start I know I could put bigger tires on it, and even have new blades for the sawzall. already thought about a set of cutout fender flares to take out the rust on the rear, fenders. Oh also no one get mad, as I didn't do it, but it is actually set on an early bronco frame with a 9in rear, d44 front, and a either a 289 or 302 not sure yet which one with a C4 D20
I meant to ask you when you came over to get rear third member for that, - was the frame lengthened or the rear axle moved back to match ranger wheelbase??? Seems like an early Bronco and ranger wouldn't have the same wheelbase.
Your right the bronco, and ranger wheel bases are different expecially since this is a long box, the frame was lengthened at the lowest flat spot by adding in a piece of tube the same size as the bronco frame (not sure if its a piece of another frame or just a piece of mild steel tubing) then the put a piece of 3" angle iron on the bottom, and outside of the frame, and stitch welded it top, and bottom, out past the ends of the new section.

Well, 44's are overrated anyways. In the sense that most guys who screw them on don't have the drivetrain or engine to properly make use of them off-road. I'd do better at the mud drags with 36s than 44s, thats for sure. Anyways, that looks like you have a fun, new project Monster!
Tell you what, when I make the trip out west to go wheelin with you turkey's I'll bring my 35's on 8 lug chromies, and we'll try 'em out, just for grins. I'd loe to see pix of that, 44's, then 35's, then 31's, for the stocker class. Heck, you'd be thru all the gears and redlinin' after 50 feet!
I bet in the drags you would actually do better on 38x11.00 boggers plenty short, and narrow enough to really get with it, but your probably right that might even look stupid on your truck, although I need some for mine, and not the new one

Yea, those would be about perfect. I'd still have to drop four inches not to look goofy though. Not that I'm against it at this point, but the wife would throw a fit.
So I checked out the ranger. I think I saw that dude on the cover of "Crack Addicts Monthly". He gets my nomination of tool of the month. One can hope he doesn't breed.
