Trans fluid question...
My wife's 1990 Ranger w/ 5-speed seems to be slowly leaking trans oil. Which oil do I use to replace it? The Haynes manual says the trans is either a Mitsubisi or a Mazda product, and the two use different fluids. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 90 owners guide says the Mitsubishi FM-146, FM-132 uses 4 quarts of Standard Transmission SAE 80W Lub. Go to this site, scroll down and you will be able to pick on manual transmissions. There are pictures of both MAZDA and Mitsubishi transmissions. MAZDA R1 uses MERCON.
