2003 tranny
My 2003 explorer transmission seems to be slipping. It only happens when you have light acceleration (say, in traffic or less than 25% of throttle pressure). it has 45000 miles on it, but started at 40000. It seems to be getting worse. I know that the torque converters are bad on the 02-04 expls. (don't know about 05...) what is this, and should i get it fixed? The check engine light also came on recently and I don't know if that might have something to do with it? Thanks in advance- I am new to this and this car has had a lot of problems in the 10000 miles that i have owned it for.

If your referring to that sudden feeling like the tranny has gone into neutral before it shifts mine does that also and it has done it from the day it was new. Seems like its most noticible when shifting from 1st to second and from second to third. I'm thinking it is just the nature of the truck because under hard load it bangs right into gear. I'm not positive of what it is and there are not and service bullitins on it that I can see. If I hear anything I'll be sure to post.
