I am setting up my Hightop conversion E150 for my to use at dog shows as since she was rearended while driving the E350 RV on US81 by someone going 85plus mph and reaching for something on the floor of his car. Was quite mess but got everything fixed. Still she will never drive it again.
So I am putting in a Converter in the van to run the four rear airliner style lights, the DVD player and the radio. Also to charge the deepcycle battery when plugged into shore power.
Do I need, or should I get, a 12 amp or 30 amp for this application?
If it is only the lights, radio and DVD player, why not just use those things as a 12v system?
If not then you must figure out how many amps you will draw from the battery in total when using these things. Then divide the total amps by how many hours the battery will be charged for to see what size charger you will need.
