Weird Torque Converter Noise

Hello Everyone!

Ok here is my problem. I have a 351W tied into a C6 Transmission. I just dropped in a new engine about 2 months ago and everything has been running great until just a few weeks ago. At idle and with the car in drive I get something that sounds like a pumping noise coming from the torque converter area. If I put the car in neutral or if I put it into drive and accelerate the noise goes away. When I first start the car I do not hear it until it warms up. I have never had this problem before and the transmission is about 2½ years on a re-build with a shift kit. The car still runs and shifts fine but this kind of thing worries my especially since I have to drive it daily for work and my 38 coupe is far from being done so I would be stranded if it goes on me. Does the torque converter behave like this when it is going bad? Do you think it will get me through the Holidays? Any info would be great,

Thanks

Cole

sometimes the ATF pump will sound like that if it is starting to wear or if the filter/strainer has become clogged or you are low on fluid. first try dropping the pan, change the filter and fluid. just one guess (hopefull) hope this helps.
