I was reading through some old posts and you were having trouble finding a good dealer to go to for service.
Have you found a good one? I live in Allegan and I bought my truck up in Lowell and I was hoping to find one closer to home for when/if I need some owrk done.
I live in Gobles and use Harold Ziegler in Plainwell. Have had very good interaction with them; but I also bought my truck there. Did not have good experiences with Don Seelye in Kalamazoo when I had a truck I bought there. There is also Two Paws Ford down in Paw Paw.
i bought my truck from harold ziegler and will never go back. 3 times to try and fix an exhaust leak, and then the service manager asked me to take my truck elsewhere after someone here told him about the thread i started here.(still dont know which spineless person told him, at least let me know who you are) he said he bent over backwards to help me by replacing my mirrors because the glass shakes at high way speeds. well last i checked you still should be able to use your mirrors on the highway without seeing a blurr. the funny part its they still shake but not as bad.https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...light=service+ here is the tread to refresh someones memory.
i now go to don seelye and have had no problems, they had my truck for about a week and fixed the exhaust leak, and the oil leaks. what a comcept, realiziing i am paying for my truck and want to use it, not some POS rental.
unfortunately for you, ziegler seems to be the closest. my sales man was awsome though, and maybe with thier new buliding they will be able to do thier job now. funny thing is i drive by the dealer almost every day going to work. just wish the service manager realized that he should try to make the customer happy.
whew, i feel better now and will come off my soap box.
I guess Don Seelye provides better service to those who do not buy there from the good luck you have had 04superduty. I had one of the original '03's with the 6.0L and I could not go two weeks without it acting up and the alternator light on every day for 15 miles. I did have a bad injector and a bad alternator, but it took them 5 months to correct it - all the time swearing there was no problems with the 6.0L. Even when the salesperson called to follow-up with my "pleasure of owning an '03" and I told him of the problems; he ignored me and seemed to be saying what someone standing by him wanted to hear.
I took my 2003 F150 5.4L to Harold Ziegler in Plainwell for them to check out my lower engine noise on cold starts. That thing would sound like my 6.0L for about 30 seconds on start up. Supposedly "normal" according to a Ford TSB and was due to piston clearances and piston slap.
They seemed ok to deal with, but I want to get some good recomendations for places to work on my 6.0L incase i ever have any issues. I bought my truck up at Harold Ziegler in Lowell (about 35 minutes north east of Grand Rapids) and they say they have a great service dept. I will try them first and if they can't fix it then goto the others.
It would just be nice to find one close to home. Kalamazoo is alot easier than Lowell, well as long as they get 131 finished.
Anyway, thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it.
