K, I've noticed something of a curiousity with my ford. If the e-brake is not enganged, and i kill my engine, the highbeams click on then off. This happenes occasionally when the e-brake is on but not all the time. What is up with this? What else could have control of the highbeams other than the steering column switch.....
Also, If there is such a seperate device, what else could it/does it control? Is it possible that the pulse is just the computer system "burping" current (like the thump when you turn off your old stereo without turning off the speakers first)?
weirdness.
Lastly, on this model and similar, how many of you out there had their feet caught on the plastic skirt of the seat and ended up cracking it/tearing it right off because of its inconvinient, anti-athestetic mold and position? I mean, come on ford, it looks like crap and it looks worse when it breaks! Anyone know of a better looking, more functional alternative to this monstrosity? or am i the only one with angst with this??
lala,
You got me on the high beams/e-brake, my 94 doesn't have this quirk. It may be sumtin in the colum when you hit the off on the key something pushes on the hi-beam switch???
As for the skirt, I can't help you there, I put 60-40 split bench in mine and they didn't have the skirt.
my dad's 4x4 has the skirt, my 4x2 doesn't, i hate the skirt, i'd pop it off it were my truck, my dad doesn't want to although it is cracked all to pieces, now that other problem intrigues me, i have no clue what would cause that unless there is something that is like shorted to something else......shorted isn't the word i'm looking for, but its the only one that comes to mind.......but if you find that out, please let us know, i really would like to hear on this one.
