90 Aerostar.... Help Please!
Hi, yes, I don't know that much about cars, but hopefully someone can figure this out for me. I have a 90 Aerostar and when I push on the gas, I get resistance. Seems like it's coming from the engine, not the gas petal. When I'm on the highway (5th gear) it just doesn't have the get up and go, that is needed. When I get on an incline, the temp rises and the oil gauge moves closer to high. It just feels when I push on the gas, I have to force it. It really has me un-nerved!! I'm praying the engine doesn't seize on me or something. Anyone have any idea's? I really don't have the money for a diagnostic to be done.
I've checked the oil, it's fine. I checked the coolent, it's fine. Help, Please!!!

Would it help to know that I recently ran out of gas? I was to embaressed to mention earlier. SORRY! My gas gage doesn't work and with the gas prices rising, I didn't take that into account and just ran out sooner than I thought I would have. I also put a fuel injector cleaner in the tank, just in case of any sediment that might have gotten into the system. Other than that, I haven't done anything else. Except being paranoid and constantly filling the tank! LOL!

possibly clogged your fuel filter. same thing happened to me, all the sediment in the bottom of the tank was sucked up when all the gas was run out, filter's only about 6 bucks at autozone, and real simple to replace
