I wouldn't add anything to the oil on a Powerstroke. The product you mentioned might very well work well in gassers, but your oil has too many important tasks in a diesel to alter it at all.

I've seen a product that reportedly extends the oil life on diesel engines. I think that is what he is refering to. As I recall, it replaces the additives that are worn out/gone. It is about $18 a gallon so I saw no sense in using it.

Our injectors run on oil pressure and the oil designed for our rigs has an anti-foaming agent. An additive will change the characteristic of the oil and cause the truck to run rough and probably do harm. I would not use an additive under any circumstances even if the manufacturer says it's o.k. How long would you want to run your oil without a change? A diesel's motor oil will last a couple thousand miles longer than a gasser. Diesel oil change 3,000- 7,000 pretty much depends on how hard you drive it.

I agree with the opinions offered above, but want to add an example. The Lucas demonstration at my local auto parts store actually demonstrates that you should not use it. I was able to get the oil to foam simply by cranking their little set of gears. Foam=Real Bad in a diesel engine.

Yes, stay away from additives. Extreme injector indigestion due to excess gas in the oil.
