I complete my first oil change and added 13.5 quarts of oil. Oil level is at 1/4 inch on dipstick at about 1/4 inch from halfway between MIN and MAX marks.
Should I add another half a quart or so to place the oil level halfway between MIN and MAX? This would place the replacement of oil between 14 to 14.5 quarts.
Have been reading this board for two months and find that the 13.5 quarts is the recomended replacement oil quantity. Thank you in advance for your input.
No. Here is the Ford Service Bulletin on the subject:
Oil Level Check Tip:
When checking the oil level on the 6.0, the vehicle must be on a level surface and the dipstick must be fully seated into the tube to ensure an accuarte reading. Do not add oil if the level is above the "MIN" line on the dipstick. Broadcast Message 1512, 1574.
Do you have a link to find those Broadcast Messages that would allow one to print them out. Thanks
