Do they make shift kits for the 3.0l engines/tranny combo? Since this will be my first Auto tranny I don't want to kill it. I drove the **** out of my old Truck with a 5spd and never thought twice about it will i have to will a 99 ranger?

Try Transgo, never used it but have heard good things. Make sure you have the extra tranny cooler in front of the radiator.

i looked for transgo and i found alot for mustangs and F150's what is the name of the ranger tranny?

if I was gonna get a shift kit it would definitely be a trans-go
and I still will but not till im at 36000 miles

Well i must be slow tonight but i can seem to search by car on summit's site I know were i can get pretty cheap transgo kits but i need to know what kinda of auto tranny my ranger has like The code name for it like my old truck was the M5OD. I am at a loss tonight

Tranny is a 4R44E and the Transgo # is SK44-55E. Check out the link below for some good information.

Actually for the late models its the second one 5R55E
5 speed automatic.
but its the same trans go part.

The 3.0 got the 5R55E in 2001, before that they had the 4R44E.

actually the 3litre o1 had a5r44e,5r55e wasfor a 4litre.
