Dijya get a 4x4?

Well no matter...it is always better, IMHO, to get an LS axle.

I also happen to prefer the chrome tubes over the boards but the boards have lights. hmmm...heck of a dilema. That's why I had both.

I just ordered a V10 XLT and did opt for the LSD. I think it is well worth the extra cost. I4 wheel drive isn;t really 4 wheel drive...as there is not a locking diff at both ends.

I say get the LSD.

I also passed on the chrome boards, as I though the regular ones were not only more usable, but also would have less potential for getting snow and the like piled on them.

I'll check on the sway bar... from what I read, it's very good to have one.

Thanks all for the input.

The rear sway bar is part of the 4x4 Trailer Tow Group. (Along with those awesome pull-out towing mirrors)

running boards

you may want to consider a retractable running board. i paid $1300 for mine so they are not inexpensive but well worth it. you get extra clearance under certain off-raod conditions, they extend lower that stock so it's easier for people to get in & out and i think it looks a lot better than a fixed running board. check out this site. http://www.roll-a-long.com/homepage.htm i didn't buy mine from directly from roll-a-long. they reffered me to a local company that i could get them from. i'm in southern california but they probably have dealers all over the place.

Got the chrome ones on my 04 CC SD. Love them. I use them getting in and out. AT 6'3" & 290 Lbs, I can stand on them and feel secure. They are a part of the truck and not a flimsy decoration. When you learn the combo of entering and exiting, using the hand hold, it really makes the climb in easy!!!
For the cost, I would go with the LSD.

After reading these posts, I stopped by my dealer and looked at an Ex with the chrome tubes. I still prefer the stock boards as the chrome ones seem to hang down lower. To each their own I suppose.

I didn't like the chrome running boards that came on my X when I first bought it because, as Matt M said, they hang down to low. Now that I did the 2" lift and added 305/70/16 tires I'm glad I got the Chrome ones. They look really good now that the truck is about 3" taller than stock & it makes it easies to climb in since they do hang down about 1" farther than the regular running boards.

LOL!

I had a set of Westin Chrome steps that I would use in the summer and change to the factory lighted boards in the winter.

Well, My wife has chnaged my mind... going with the factory lighted boards. Now I have money for the LS rear end. Going with the aspen green. Is it as dark as the paint chip shows? I hope so.
