Unhappy '70 Windshield wiper switch problem

Just installed a new washer box and motor (Fits '73 to '79) worked fine for a few days then quit. Bought a new switch but didn't solve the problem, can jump to the washer motor and it works fine, wires from switch to pump check OK, power to switch is good (Orange wire at switch). This has me scratching my head in frustration. Does anybody have any ideas about this? The only thing that I can think of is the switch I bought is also bad, Is there a way to check the switch? Thanks for any help with this.

You'll need to use a test light or ohm meter to test the wires coming out of the switch to see if it's hot when you push the **** in.

Tomorrow I'll do that, I searched about this and discovered a thread that I think you participated in about putting a intermitent switch in, I have a '78 Bronco ,so I am going to try that switch, if it works I'll pick up a new one. Did you (if you did this?) have any issues with this swap? I was unsure about the relay that was mentioned in one of the threads, I thought that the delay switches were self contained. It sure would be nice to have delay wipers on this old truck. Thank you for taking time to reply.

I did the swap for the intermittent wipers. I've been really happy with it especially since the rainy season is underway. The only issue I had was getting power to the washer motor from the switch. I don't recall which wire I switched, but I outlined it in one of the old threads. it might be the thread that you found (search under "wiper delay"). It was pretty much plug and play. The intermittent wiper system consists of the intermittint switch, delay box and wire harness.

Here is how my wires match up.

Truck harness to wiper switch/relay pigtail

orangle/white - black/green dash

orange/yellow &
brown/green - EMPTY

lime - black/white

blue - blue

black - black

white - white

red - red

My washer has a lime and a black wire coming from it. I don't think the black comes back to the plug, but I am not for sure. Lat me know if you have the same wire color combos.
