I am going to order me a set of hedmen headers in a day or so for my 79 f250
with a 351m/NP435/205. Only thing that I am having trouble on is that I live in Cali and my question is on my air cleaner assembly, i have a heat vent that runs to my exhuast manifold from my air cleaner. Could I just remove this or do I need this for California smog junk? One last thing, anyone got anything to say about hedmens compared to flowtechs? tyvm.
I just put on a set of Hedmans and am extremely pleased with them. They came with the connections and the duct to install the carb warmer. I didn't use it as my truck is exempt from emissions, but it was there if I needed it. Oh, by the way, I intially bought Flowtechs but returned them after seeing how they would bolt up. The Hedmans were a perfect fit. An afternoon project.
I love my Hedmans. And they come with the CARB sticker for emissions. And they do have a little adapter that bolts to the header tube with hose clamps to allow you to use the stove pipe thing.
so they bolt right up i dont have to redo my whole exhaust once again hehe.
sweeeet! tyvm
Well, depending on what you have now, maybe. All headers seem to hang differently, but it should be a minor modification to your existing exhaust to mate them up.
Like the other said Hedman headers are cool I also just installed headers on my 75 F-250 , now i'm running a 390 they do bolt on with alittle fight, if you have had the old type headers you'll note the colllectors are different(better) hook up, you might need alittle help from your muff ller shop.
good luck
