Getting a Complex

Hey Guys - I'm starting to get leary about replying to any posts. Seems almost every time I respond to someone's post or try to help with a problem, "The Post Stops There".

Gotta mean one of two things. Either 1)I don't have a clue about what I'm talking about and ya'all are just to kind to say so, or 2)my responses are just that good that nothing else need be said.

I'm hoping it's #1 and letting you know that I would love to hear better responses - I learn alot from you guys and would love to know when I'm wrong. Just ask my Hubby - he says I'm always wrong.

Yeah you got a complex. I'm sure it's #2 also but I know that it would be nice for someone to come along after you and give you pat on the back or at least a thank you...

This brings up a good point to everybody, and that is to thank whoever gave you the help you needed. I try to do that as much as I can and let the person who replied to my message a thanks. It's a nice thing to do, and I think it'll keep people coming back because they feel appreciated and welcomed here. :-)

No feedback is quite often positive feedback. So don't take it personally, rather enjoy that fact that you have the last word!

Hey thanks guys.

It would be nice if all of the folks that come to these boards for advise or ideas would at least acknowledge that they at least read it whether they agree or disagree. There's alot that are curtious enough to respond, but there are are alot that don't.

Personally, I like hearing other peoples perspectives and ideas and whether it worked or not.

I agree with you Carlene. It's always nice to have closure to a thread, and to know if our advice helped. It's also a great way to learn from the outcome. Don't worry though, you give good responses.
Sometimes it helps to put a reminder at the end of your post to "Please let us know the outcome". It seems to work sometimes.

Over time I have learned not to worry about "Dead End Threads".

I have often wished I could "Talk" more with people on some subjects, but even when people talk face-to-face there are times when the conversation shifts elsewhere....

And on a messageboard that means the conversation picked up in a different place in it....

I used to wonder about it just like you seem to be doing. The perspective I have now is from several years at "decent" places online. I want you to know this from the heart, right here and right now:

You have made a great many wonderful and informative posts that made a lot of difference to everyone here. And we care about you very much!

And with that - I'm going to take the liberty of rating you!

Carlene,

You can always depend on me to answer your posts. You probably know more about trucks than I do, but I am always willing to learn and to share. Please consider me to be "a truck friend" and email me or talk to me as much as you want.

Oops! wrong thread - was expecting something about apartments or acne!

But while I'm here - I like your posts Carlene...keep it up! I'm much more of a listener than a talker but I guess that is kind of selfish in this situation - I'll try and contribute more!

Carlene,
Don't take it to heart that you're not getting responses. Alot of times I find that when a question is asked, more often than not it has already been answered as well or better than I could have done so myself. If the question is still hanging by the time I get to the bottom of the thread, I'll throw in my 2 cents worth (which is just about all any of us can do), and hope it helps out.
