engine casting no#s
can some one help me out the casting no#s on my block are
D40E 6015 3A Z
6L23
what i can make of it is a 74 Fairlane/torino Engine block but what does the 3A and the Z mean????????
the second part i think is that it was cast 23 nov 76 thought that was a bit strange though????

The 3A and Z don't really mean anything, they are suffix revisions according to what I have and don't really tell you the cubic inches.
If your sure its either a 302 or 351w, then the easiest way to tell is to look or feel the back of the block, behind the intake, on a 351w you will feel or see two large ridges, very noticable, on a 302 you will feel nothing.
