I have a 89 E350 Diesel van, that I am having to cross the terminals on the solenoid every time to start. I have replaced the solenoid. The wire going to the I is very dim with a light. When it does go it lights up properly. I believe it is Red with a blue stripe. Were does it go from the I post on the solenoid?
Back to the bottom of the steering column?
The wire should go from the ignition switch to the transmission safety switch to the ignition solenoid.
The ignition switch is on the bottom back of the steering column.
Transmission safety switch I have no idea on a van, but it will be by the linkage somewhere, either under the dash or by the transmission. Probably by the transmission is where I would look first.
