2003 tow package
just a thought don't all expys 03 and 04 have a tow package whats the differnce between all of them i they all have the tow hitch and is there a preinstalled blue wire for brakes on the expys that you hookup to a brake controller

as far as i know all 03 expys come with a tow package as standard
my 03 has the hitch ,3.73 axle and trailer lite plugs on the rear
it also has a plug under the dash for the brake contrller, but you must
now purchase the pig tail to plug into it[not supplied by ford as in my
01 expy]
ps. i love my jordan brake controller.

My understanding is 03-05 Expys do come with a Class IV trailer hitch receiver and 4-pin wiring harness standard, but the vehicle tow capacity is only 6000 lbs. With the trailer tow package (350 msrp / 298 invoice) you get the tranny cooler, heavy-duty radiator and alternator, and 7-pin wiring harness. This brings the tow capacity up to 8950 2wd (8900 now in the 05) or 8650 (or 8600 in the 05). Not sure about the 03 or 04, but with the 05 it looks like the wiring harness for a brake controller comes with the tow package.

I looked in the brochures and the '03s came standard with the Class IV trailer hitch but the '04s and '05s come standard with the Class III hitch with the Class IV optional. My '03 Eddie Bauer 5.4 came standard with the Class IV trailer hitch.
