Gas tank change
I'm currently restoring my 71 Ford frame off resto. I want to remove the gas tank that sits in between the frame rails under the truck. I am doing this because it is a pain in the a$$ to put exhaust straight to the back when you have to go around the tank. I was thinking to put a 73 ford rear gas tank in but the frame is to narrow. I would like to have a tank in the back of the frame something like the 73 to 79 fords. Has anyone done this with a different gas tank from a car or truck for there 67 to 72 Fords. Any suggestions would be helpful. I want the second tank because the 390FE likes her fuel.

I have a 67 that I am going to put 2 in cab tanks into the bed. Sounds confusin but i think it will work. I want two tanks also but i don't want them in the cab or under the bed. I think if you could take your bed off the frame you would have a lot of room to work. You might have to make a mounting cage or get creative with some tank straps. Just remember this tank could become a bomb. You don't want to take shorttcuts and you don't want to drop it on the road.
