Fast Idle
I have a 88 ranger5spd runs pretty good most of the time but lately it's started running odd. It seems to idle high. I have to turn the truck off at stop lights and re-start to get it to come down but it doesn't do it all the time .Is there an idle seloniod if so where is it. I just found this site tonite and I've read a couple problems you guys have solved, so I know I'm in the right place for answer.

Fast Idle
I would start with cleaning the IAC (idle air control solenoid), it's on the passengers side of the upper intake on a 2.9, looks like a film canister with an extra piece on the back with two wires. Mechanicmatt.com should have a procedure for cleaning.
