Are you buying it privately or from a dealer?
Like pretty much every North American built FWD vehicle they quite often have expensive transmission problems. See if you can find out if the trans has been serviced. If it hasn't it should be. With proper servicing they usually last ok.
Electrical glitches such as dome lights coming on when they shouldn't happen sometimes.
Other than that they are generally a pretty good vehicle. I can't think of any other chronic problems.
it's from a dealer that's a neighbour of my dad.i'm gonna get the warrenty which will cover everything for another 100 000 km or 5 years, and there's still 40 000 km left on the original warrenty.i figured that i can get the best warrenty at the dealer cost, that's only 1 repair, so it should be worth it.
If you can get genuine Ford warranty that's the best way to go.
I think you'll like the Windstar. They really are pretty nice to drive....for a minivan
