My transfer case went bye bye and I need to replace it. I have the 1356 Borg Warner chain driven unit with lever shift and slip yoke output.
I wonder what is different about the F350 t-case. All charts I see say they take a different unit but some I have seen look identical to mine. Maybe the provisions are there for PTO or something like that?
I also wonder about the 80-86 truck cases, what about using one of these?
My 92 f350 has the bw1356 in it,i dont think there is any diff in ones used in f250s and f350s.Somewhere in the mid 80s is when the 1356 replaced the 1345,the 1345 does not have a slip yolk, however with a few mods im pretty sure it will work.Remember the early 80s 4x4 shifter was right in the middle of the tranny hump,so you would also need the shifter. What is the prob with yours? If the case isnt broken the internals should be servicable. There not as complicated as people might think.Nothing even close to an auto tranny, which is probably what most think, you know, transfer vs transmission.
