Clutch

I figure you guys would know the answer here instead of going a lil futher down the board. What would be a good clutch to use with a top loader and a 400+hp FE that wont break my budget........nevermind I broke that 3 months ago. Also I was going to use a TCI bellhousing , but it says it cant be used on a pre 65 block with bendix type starter. So since my block is a 64' can I jus use a diff starter?

Not sure about the starter, sorry. As for the clutch, I would say you are on the fringe of being able to use a stocker. If not, I would probably just order a centerforce stage II.

I believe you can use the bellhousing as long as you use the later style starter. I had a '61-'62? block 390 that I used the later bellhousing/starter setup in without any problems. You might check into a heavy duty replacement clutch, they usually offer 200-400 more pounds of grip or just get the Centerforce setup they recommend.
