Sparks from tailpipe??

'04 Excursion - 7500 miles, predator (100hp mode)....driving it last night on I-20, driving a little fast, and looked back to notice sparks coming out of the tailpipe. I first thought it was something dragging, but upon further inspection, it had to be coming out of the tailpipe. Any ideas?? Did I break my baby?!?

Was it distinct metal sparking, or flames?

Metal sparking. I thought something was dragging, however, it wasn't a constant stream of sparks (like something dragging). Just a couple of bursts of sparks, then I reduced my speed, and it hasnt happened since (at least not that I've noticed). I looked underneath the truck to see if something had come loose, but couldnt find anything. Truck seems to be running fine. No symptoms during or after the sparking.

Sounds like you knocked the carbon build up out of the exhaust with higher egt's some may have flaked and exited the tail pipe..

I don't think it is something to be worried about, IMO....

Mine, with the Edge box, will blow visible flames out at higher EGT's if the exhaust is unbolted at the downpipe (its only really visible at night, didn't realize it until a friend, who was behind me at the time, alerted me to the fact)

A few sparks don't seem to be a hazard to the truck...
