Harm from bad DPFE sensor?
I was looking back over some dated posts and the one about the 0401 (EGR) code caught my attention. Friend of mine pulled that code on my `99 and said it was "most likely" the DPFE sensor. My question is - that was almost a year and 12 or 15k ago. Could not tending to this in a timely fashion have caused me any damage? He cautioned\advised me not to over-fill my fuel tank (as I had a bad habit of squeezing in every drop I could - sometimes 3 gals after auto shut-off) as well as not letting the tank level drop below 1/4 - if I could help it. Could these two things have caused the DPFE (corrosion) failure, and again, could driving on a bad DPFE cause any other damage? Thanks guys
