Yes, I have a 2001 EX. I love the truck but hate the drive. It wanders, I have taken the truck to my dealership, and the say that the truck is in line and that everything is tight. I have read about the Radius Rods the LandYOT put on his EX and the improvmewnt that it has provided. So, my question is, where can I get the radius rods and do I need to put the stabilizer bar on it also.
For what it may be worth.....I just had the ball joints replaced in my 2000 X and it made all the difference in the wander factor! I think I had bad ball joints from the factory according to how the X now handles. The new joints are greasable too so maybe we can get more life out of them. Some new front steering stabilizer parts and she handles like a dream.
I originally added the rear stabilizer bar and new shocks to try and get some handling back. Good luck!
Have your dealer check TSB 01-3-2.
Basically it says that if the caster is adjusted properly then to check the lower ball joints for poor returnability. The ball joints get sticky and the steering wont turn freely which causes a wander. The cure is to replace the lower ball joints.
Was it obvious that the ball joints were bad, or did you replace them trying to fix the wander? <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

I have put new shocks, tires, and steering stabilizer. The truck has been aligned twice and no mention of ball joints being bad and both time the truck was in alignment. I am sure that if there was any play in the ball joints the shop would have recommended that I change them, you know how they like to stick you with as much as possible, especially at the time of alignment
One fellow got home after towing his travel-trailer during a long journey, but before unhitching, he had his wife drive the rig while he drove alongside in another vehicle. He could actually SEE the rear wheels going out of alignment, steering the X. I had theorized this is what was causing the wandering ailment, and why it stopped once the rear axle is restricted to a controlled-arc ... but this guy proved my theory. And while I figured this was the cause, I never would've imagined it was enough misalignment that one could see it with their eyes. There was nothing else wrong with his truck ... no broken leaf springs, spring-stack center-pin, and all front-end specifications were within tolerance limits.
The common misconception most people make is that if they experience any sort of directional control problem, the problem must be at the front end. This is simply not true with the X. I've ridden in a 427 Cobra roadster and felt a directional change just from gear shifts ... and the cause was a 2 PSI pressure difference between the rear tires.
BTW Dellop, WELCOME to the forum! And what do you mean when you say "stabilizer bar?" Are you refering to the anti-swaybar? If so, you cannot go wrong with the one made by Hellwig ... great improvement for the amount of $$$ spent.
