I have a good runnin 400, but its under the hood of my truck, so its not for sale. I also have an old 460, buts its far from running. I will keep my eye out for one, i see all kinds of old fords around here.
The 460 i has only run once, the time we drove it on to the trailer about 6 years ago. It is suposedly got a hot cam, ported and polished heads, ect, but i dont know. Right now its currently sitting in a 76 t-bird that i dont know what i'm going to do with.
Ace, help your self buddy. I have tried to use engines that someone else has built up before with no clue as to what was actualy in them and had nothing but head aches. All I was looking for is a rebuildable core. Be careful on something like this, you never know what your getting in to. 79-Driver, I realy apreciate the information, but it's not what I'm after.
Ace, I see now. I thought maybe I had offended you. I think I may know where the is a complete 460 with a c6 for cheap. I haven't messed with it because I just wanted a short block and I don't have a lot of room to store too many parts. I know for a fact where to find a realy strong 390. Probably 7 or 8 thousand miles on a rebuild. Rebuild was done to stock specs, but engine does have edelbrock intake and a set of headers. It probably isn't something you would want to mess with. There is also a wrecking yard just out side of waco that usualy sells complete ford carberated engines for around 3 to 400. I saw a couple of 400's and probably 5 460's last time I was there. Where are you at? any where near Waco?
william ace, just so you'll know i'm still on the lookout for an engine, all ive foundso far is a 302 and a 300-6 (i know you dont want that. lol) I will ask around some more though.
nah i didnt get offended. and yeah im close, am in College station. so thats not far at all.so yeah if you could see what they have that would be awesome. im just not wantin to mess with a whole lot right now, just wanna get my bronco running. no huge hurry, just want to make the spring break trip with the off road club down here. thanks for keepin yalls eyes peeled i appreciate it doc and 79driver. really do.
