Transmission problem

I have a 1991 F150 with 5.0 motor and auto transmission. Sometimes but not always the transmission shifts with a hard jerk from lst to 2nd etc. This does not happen all the time and can not determine any certain time that it may happen. Truck only has 70,000 miles and has been well taken care of. Filter and fluid have been changed. Any ideas as to what may cause this?

sounds like your throttle position sensor is defective, try a new one and it will probably solve your problem.
