The Belt Minder feature can be deactivated/ activated by performing the following procedure:
Before following the procedure, make sure that:
Parking brake is set
gearshift in park, or neutral position on manual
ignition switch is in off
all doors are closed
drivers belt unbuckled
headlights off
1. Turn ignition switch to ON postion (don't start it)
2. Wait until safety belt light turns off
Note: steps 3-5 must be completed within 60 seconds or whole process must be repeated
3. Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt 3 times, ending with it unbuckled.
4. Turn on headlights, turn off headlights
5. Buckle then unbuckle belt 3 times, ending with it off
Note: After step 5 the safety belt warning light will be turned on for three seconds.
6. Within seven seconds of the safety belt warning light turning off, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt.
This will deactivate the light. Might wanna print it out, its alot

Does your air bag light prove out when you start the truck?
Door ajar light works ok?

fbodyfan, OBDII is a government mandated standard for the engine controls but can also be tied into the chassis, body and accessory systems.
The GEM (Generic Electronic Module) gets tested with a scan tool hooked up to the DataLink Connector, the same as for testing the engine controls. The GEM controls warning lights and beepers, 4X4, wipers, courtesy lights etc.
