valve adjustment

I'm in the process of assembling a 2.9 in a '88 Bronco II and need to confirm how to adjust the valves. One of my shop manuals says to adjust to zero lash then turn an additional 4.5 turns. Another manual says to adjust to zero lash then turn an additional 1.5 turns. I don't think 4.5 can be correct but maybe neither book is correct. Any help on this will be appreciated.

The original specification was 1.5 but was revised to 1.75.

Valve adjustment

Thanks, I use the 1.75. Glad I asked. I appreciate the fast response.

I just changed lifters in mine and ran across the 4.5 turns in the haynes manuel. Called machine shop and 1.5 was what I done. Wish I would had posted several weeks ago. no more lifter noise also found a cracked head. New head on one side, rebuilt on the other wish I would have got two new heads now.
